WANA (Nov 16) – Ali Larijani, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized in a statement that Iran fully supports any decision made by the Islamic Resistance of Lebanon.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Larijani stated that the battles in southern Lebanon highlight the failure and irrationality of the Zionist regime.

He explained, “During my visits to Syria and Lebanon, I carried direct messages from the Supreme Leader to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. The details of these messages are entrusted to them.”

Larijani further clarified that the main purpose of these messages was to express support for the resistance and the people of Syria and Lebanon.

He remarked, “The resistance is mature and does not need advice from anyone. On the contrary, it is the resistance that should guide others.”

The senior advisor also commented on a draft ceasefire proposal, noting that it includes provisions that, if not violated by the U.S. and the Zionist regime, could lead to an agreement in the future.

However, Larijani refrained from sharing his personal opinion on the ceasefire or other related matters, stating, “This is up to the Lebanese government.”

He praised Hezbollah, describing it as a wise and rational party with seasoned political and military leaders, adding, “We trust their decisions.”

Larijani also addressed propaganda by the Zionists, stating, “Some of what the Zionists claim is purely for propaganda purposes, but we have complete confidence in the vigilance of the resistance leaders.”

Reflecting on history, Larijani recalled the 33-day war, noting, “Condoleezza Rice once attempted to reshape the Middle East. Where is she now, and what did she accomplish?”

He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, “Netanyahu dreams of changing the Middle East, but with what power? He relies entirely on U.S. strength, and without it, he is nothing. What achievements has he made so far?”

Larijani expressed confidence in victory, emphasizing that the Zionist regime’s genocide in Gaza has only strengthened the resolve of resilient and determined individuals.

He went on to say, “We have witnessed Israel’s actions and the steadfastness of Yahya Sinwar. Today, there are thousands of Sinwars in Gaza.”

Larijani praised the Lebanese people and resistance for their rationality and vigilance regarding regional issues.

He revealed, “We launched around 200 missiles at the Zionist regime, but the situation now is very different.”

He concluded, “The creation of a new Middle East is not in the hands of external powers but those fighting on the ground.”

Larijani remarked that history repeats itself, as great figures rise, fight, and become martyrs, only for new fighters to take their place.

“We are witnessing a remarkable generation of courageous leaders shaped by figures like Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and the martyr General Qassem Soleimani,” he said.

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Ali Larijani led an official delegation to Damascus to meet with senior Syrian officials.

During his visit to Lebanon, Larijani also held discussions with senior Lebanese officials, including the Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament, addressing the latest developments in the region.
